The Starlite Theatre is built on a very historic Branson site. Warren Stokes built the Jubilee Theatre, and it was know as the “stage” continuation of Springfield’s famous TV show The Ozark Jubilee starring Red Foley. In 1985 Clifford Campbell and Richard Johnson took over the property and the Ozark Country Jubilee was born, winning many of the local Ozark Music Awards in 1986-88. Big name stars got their start at the Ozark Country Jubilee like Country Music artists Chely Wright and Jeff Carson 1987 -88. Hollywood actress Missy Crider started her career on the Ozark Country Jubilee at the age of 12 in 1986 and won Young Entertainer of the Year at the Ozark Music Awards that year. Eddie Rabbit performed for 2 seasons and Hank Williams Jr. and his ‘Bama Band also performed at the Ozark Country Jubilee in the late 1980s. Barbara Fairchild renovated the theatre in the spring of 1995 and held her first show on April 4, 1995. In the winter of 1998 the theatre was demolished and new Construction of the Starlite Theatre began. The Theatre opened in April, 1999 with the award-winning Doug Gabriel Show, and the all new Lost in the Fifties show opened mid-May, 1999. This production highlighted all types of music and life styles from the ‘50’s era, not just rock ‘n roll. The American Kids show was added at the end of May. With a name change in 2000 to the Starlite Kids Revue, these energetic and talented young people took you on a musical journey of song and dance featuring country, ragtime jazz, rock and roll and Broadway. The 2001 final season of the Starlite Kids Revue was a great success and keep your eyes open as these talented young people have moved on .. and we can say “we knew them when”. In 2002 a brand new morning show came to the Starlite Theatre and to Branson The Dalena Show. Dalena brought her great voice, beauty, and band, “The Boys” to the stage of the Starlite in a great production show that featured country, pop, ballads, and much more. Mornings of 2003 brought the Jim Owen Show to the stage of the Starlite Theatre. This Emmy award-winning entertainer delighted audiences with his “pure country” renditions of all the great country songs, especially Hank Williams. The Starlite’s changes for the 2005 season included the addition of Stuck on the 70’s and The World Famous Platters. In the summer of 2006 the Starlite merged the Lost in the 50’s show with The Platters show, at 10:00am & 7:30pm. This show continues for 2007 along with Country Music Super Star Moe Bandy in the afternoons at 2:00pm.
The 50’s themed Starlite Snack Bar and Soda Fountain is an excellent place to have a bite to eat, boasting an old-fashioned ice cream sodas, Branson’s largest banana split, jumbo hotdogs, and of course, everyone loves theatre popcorn. A special group menu is also available. And new for 2007, we are now serving award winning Famous Dave’s BBQ!

Our Fifties store-front atrium is very unique. The interior of the atrium is a trip back to Main Street, USA in the 1950’s, complete with vintage cars, streetlights and a tree-lined Avenue. The old-style box office marquee blends modern technology with tradition in a unique new way. Before the show, the atrium will be the center of activity for our interactive Lost in the 50’s cast, along with several special events and gatherings, even an old fashioned hula hoop contest, which includes YOU! Don’t miss Christmas at the Starlite! We transform the atrium into a winter wonderland, with one of the most memorable Christmas production in Branson.
